Job Post: Underground Boilermaker

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Standard 10) or equivalent

  • Boilermaker Trade Test (Section 13 or 26 with proof of apprenticeship)

  • Flameproof and Gas testing certificates

  • Driver’s license

  • Medical fitness certificate

Experience:

  • Five years’ experience as an underground boilermaker

  • Repairing underground production machines

Skills and abilities:

  • Good communication and writing skills

  • Safety orientated

  • Good supervisory skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment’s being used are inspected, maintained and safe for use

  • All safety devices must be operational

  • Ensure maximum availability of equipment

  • Train and develop employees under his or her supervision

  • Maintain good housekeeping

  • Comply with standards, procedures, rules and regulations

  • Ensure all logbooks are up to date, signed and submitted

  • Willing to work overtime and standby
