Our primary focus is on maintaining exceptional production standards. The successful development of the Udumo and Belgarthen Adits has paved the way for us to start mining the Kusipongo reserve. With these initiatives firmly established, we are poised to extend the lifespan of our mine, furthering Kangra’s longstanding commitment to job creation, economic growth, and community development.

Kangra’s dedicated team is instrumental in our pursuit of excellence, supported by systems geared towards increasing efficiency. Since its inception in 1957, Kangra has been a cornerstone of economic activity in the region, and the ability to sustain operations post-depletion of the Maquasa reserve is crucial in ensuring continued economic contribution for years to come.

We have delivered impactful community projects through initiatives like our Social and Labour Plan and Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. For example, the recent installation of clean water taps in Donkerhoek under the Yende Farmers Trust is part of an ongoing effort to improve the lives of surrounding farm residents.

We care for the environment, not only for regulatory compliance purposes but also because it is the right thing to do. Initiatives like Block C’s rehabilitation and environmental compliance measures demonstrate our commitment to responsible mining practices. We have also implemented a water treatment plant at Belgarthen, conducting weekly tests to safeguard local water sources from contamination, ensuring our operations align with best sustainable practices.

We remain committed to fostering strong ties with our host communities through regular engagement with legitimate local forums and government structures, such as the local municipalities near our mine.
