The Safe Space: Additional training reinforces underground safety standards

Continual training and upskilling are important to maintaining good health and safety standards for Kangra’s operations. We believe that knowing better enhances our ability to do better. This year, we decided to send some of our team members for additional training on methane gas management to ensure a safer working environment underground.

Methane is an existing natural element that we must be mindful of as underground coal miners. Through improved awareness and monitoring, we can identify risks and reduce the chances of it harming. When equipped with the latest information and skills, our team members will be able to be proactive in taking action where needed.  We believe that safety training should not happen once in a lifetime; it should be an ongoing investment in our people.
