Job Post: Procurement Manager
The ideal applicant will meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 with relevant business/commercial tertiary qualification
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Logistics or relevant experience
Valid driver’s license
Computer literacy and experience with ERP systems
Experience:
Proven experience in a procurement/management role of at least 10 years, preferably in the mining environment
Skills and abilities:
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
Change management skills, business acumen skills
Good communication
Must be able to organize and lead
Must be able to add value and reduce costs
Knowledge and understanding of mining processes
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Procurement targets as required by the DMRE are being met and compile annual report
Drive continuous improvement in the provision of the integrated finance, administration, and procurement function to corporate, business units and departments
Direct Purchasing strategies to achieve savings in line with prior planning
Develop and manage tender strategies for various critical materials and services
Participate in the development of and maintain the Inventory Catalogue
Oversee the Stores replenishment and store functions
Ensure compliance with stock take, cycle counts, storage of equipment and spares and diesel
Obtain Legal certification for storage of flammable liquids
Manage and direct logistics functions between B.U.
Develop monthly reporting on various warehouse stock holding
Ensure that purchasing policies and processes are complied with to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets to enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market
Ensure the effective operation, monitoring, support, and management of the company's ERP system
Create and review opportunities to implement best practice to aid and improve business performance and deliver best value and business savings
Ensure procurement policy, guidelines, standard operating procedures, and relevant documents are in place and updated when required
Ensure appropriate supplier partnerships and delivery of products
Compile management reports and monitor saving
Manage relationships with suppliers and select and develop new suppliers
Negotiate and manage contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms
Review and negotiate existing agreements to optimise commercial terms
Embark upon and assess tenders from potential suppliers
Implement a system to measure effective performance of suppliers
Manage, coach, and develop subordinates
Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on supply
Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service, whilst optimizing costs
Stay updated on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of products and material
Enforce safety, health, and environmental integrity principles applicable to area of responsibility
